Hi All,

It is premature but important to know that what would be the specs for developing something for the Marketplace.

Can I ask the genius Liferay Team to share some basic FAQs about the do's and dont's for the Apps creation.

By that time we will wait for Liferay 6.1 and Marketplace.

Hi Rajeev,

As far as I know, it is no different than developing a portlet yourself independently. Marketplace should just be a way for you to publish your portlet to everyone.

In the mean time, you can download the 6.1 beta and make sure your App works with it and open any tickets for bugs you find.

Yep, good point Amos. As long as your app works with Liferay 6.1 you should be good to go. There are some basic requirements listed in the developer guide but these are very high level. But again, as long as you build your app in the form of Liferay Plugins, you're ready for the Marketplace. The actual process of uploading apps to the marketplace involves uploading all of your individual plugins, no need to create some other form of files. You just upload your individual WARs that make up your app.

Thanks Amos and James,
Anyway I suppose it will be needed to provide somo extra info about what your portlet does, right? Or is it enough with the liferay-plugin-package.properties info?

Thanks again anyway.
