Pluggable Enterprise Search with GSA

Etiquetas: search

Table of Contents [-]

Introduction #

Basic steps:

  1. Allow the GSA to crawl the portal as a "SE User" with rights to read all content in all communities.
  2. Deploy the GSA portlet
  3. Deploy the Liferay GSA Authorization SPI module

For searching:

  1. use IFrame portlet to fwd search request directly to the GSA or use portlet to submit WS request to GSA
  2. GSA will execute search and contact the Liferay GSA authorization SPI to check permissions
  3. Liferay will tell GSA which content are valid for return.
  4. GSA returns search XML (or renders HTML if using IFrame).

We will be providing this integration most likely in the 6.1 EE release.

Can you provide an svn location of this GSA module regardless of its current level of stability please?

Are there any updates on potential inclusion in Liferay 6.1?

As we see that liferay has not delivered since the last 2 years a solution we build one in a project called goolico.com.

Take a look and check it for your requirements.

Kind Regards,
LTS

It's quit a goog solution for web page search. If you want to search your content like messages boards, blogs, web content, etc. it is better to use a solution like goolico.com cause it includes permission management inside the gsa.
