Deploy portlets under standalone/deployments

Hello everyone,

I want to ask if it is possible to deploy portlets (that are not OSGI modules) to end up in standalone/deployments folder.
If possible how can you do it?

Liferay 7?

Under 7, all portlets (even non-OSGi module ones) should be internally repackaged and deployed as WABs into Liferay's OSGi container; they won't go to standalone/deployments any more.

This repackaging is handled by Liferay's deployment mechanism.
