Customized Activity Stream
Table of Contents [-]
Background #
The current Liferay Activity Stream app is very limited, and cannot be customized - it simply shows all activities either for the given user (when placed on a user page) or site (when placed on a site page). There are many other options that sites want to use to customize which activities are displayed, how they are displayed, etc.
Use Cases #
- Limiting the types of activities displayed to only those that make sense for different contexts (e.g. not showing updates to documents, for a blog site)
- Showing activities just from specific scopes such as Me, My Sites, etc (similar to Social Office activities portlet).
- Ideally, ativities list should be updated instantly
Skills Needed #
- Required: Java, JSP
Deliverables #
A modification to existing activity stream or a new one implementing customization options.
