 Developing for the Liferay Platform 1Developers are responsible for creating portlets and customizing portal functionality. Participants in this training course will learn how to develop plugins that can create, update and delete records from the database, implement permissions and use the debugger to fix errors in their code. We will also cover how to extend core portlets, override Liferay services via Spring and customize the control panel. By the end of the course, participants will find themselves well equipped to efficiently develop on the Liferay platform. |  Mastering Liferay FundamentalsThis two-day course covers the fundamentals of the Liferay Platform. Participants will learn how to engage in the core concepts of Liferay, including how to: correctly manage users with Organizations, manage content with Sites, restrict access to content using Roles and Permissions and create new pages and content using Liferay's Content Management System. |  Administering Liferay SystemsSystem Administrators are responsible for installing and configuring the server. Participants will learn how to install Liferay, hook into an enterprise database, configure LDAP to create and sync user accounts, and install and manage Liferay Plugins. We will also cover advanced topics such as clustering, performance tuning and monitoring. |
Developing for the Liferay Platform 2The Developing for the Liferay Platform 2 Training continues where Developing for the Liferay Platform 1 leaves off. This course offers a deeper dive into Liferay Portal development. The course builds on the basic understanding of Liferay Service Builder learned in the previous course and explores new topics such as Liferay's exciting new UI metaframework, Alloy UI. Participants will also learn about many of the APIs that Liferay provides to make a developers life easier. |  Styling Liferay with ThemesThis one-day course provides developers with a deep dive into the use of themes to customize the look and feel of the Liferay Portal. Participants will learn how to use HTML, CSS, Velocity and images to completely transform their portals and to create a custom user experience for their users. In addition to developing a Theme, participants will also learn about developing Layout Templates and will explore advanced topics such as Theme Settings and embedding portlets in Themes and Layout Templates. |  Managing Content with LiferayContent managers are responsible for creating and managing the content for the portal. Liferay supports a variety of content types and participants in this course will learn about all of them. There will be a special emphasis on Web Content with a focus on creating reusable Web Content Structures and Templates. Participants will also learn about features that make it easier for your users to locate the content they are looking for. |
