      Introduction #

      The Friends portlet is a social networking portlet for creating friend relationships in Liferay. The Friends portlet is a part of the Social Networking portlet package in 6.x; in versions prior to 6.x it is a part of the World of Liferay portlet package.

      Functionality#

      The Friends portlet lists your current friends. You can add a friend by visiting a user's Summary portlet or Wall portlet.

      say your user - gagandeep, wants to befriend user test.
      1. Login as test, go to /web/test/home (or any other public page of the user), add summary portlet and Friend's Request portlet to the page.
      2. Login as gagandeep, go to /web/test/home where you added summary portlet. click on link for sending friend request in summary portlet.
      3. Login as test and you will see the gagandeep's request in Friend's Request portlet. approve it
      4. Login as gagandeep and add friend's portlet on a page public/private page, you will see "test" as friend, and similarly test will see gagandeep as friend.

      Also, I am trying to find out if its possible to "de-friend".
