There exists several resources that can be useful for end users. By end users we mean any user that accesses the portal through the web interface and includes administrators and regular users.
This article exists as a mean to gather links to all of those resources from a central point.
Official resources #
Documentation #
- Using the portal section in the Quick Start Guide: provides information about adding a portlet, changing the default theme, managing users and using the content management system.
- Liferay User Guide: Is the best available resource for end users covering all the interesting areas. It also covers some stuff not related to end users, such as configuration.
Lifecasts #
Liferay.com hosts a good number of videos (35 right now) that show the most important functionalities of the portal. Be sure to check those at:
Not official #
EducaMadrid #
The EducaMadrid portal is a portal build on top of Liferay portal. It is being used by the public schools of the Madrid area (Spain) and a group of teachers have prepared a very nice collection of end user manuals. Note that all the contents are in spanish and that it also describes some local developments that will not be available in a regular Liferay download.
CyberVietnam #
CyberVietnam portal is also another portal built on top of the Liferay Professional Portal. It is considered the biggest portal for Vietnamese communities, and is currently Beta version.
