What's New? #

The What's News section is a great place to start if you are a community member but you have been out of the game for a while or if you simply want to keep an eye on what the latest liferay events are.

Liferay Wiki - Liferay has decided to use Media wiki while its own wiki is developed. If you are not familiar with MediaWiki or its syntax open this link in a new window: Wiki Help.

Liferay Portal Roadmap - The Liferay Portal Road Map is broken down in to several stages: Horizon I, Horizon II, Horizon III, and Horizon IV. Horizon I is the closest to release on the road map and the features and dates listed are concrete. Horizon II Features and dates are approximate, but close. Horizon I & II have code names. Horizon III dates and features are a best guess estimate. Horizon IV is blue sky.

Community Roadmap - The Community Road Map is something that you may not come across on many OSS projects/products. In general it is in the minds of the community as tacit knwoledge but is not written down. We would like to take the next steps and begin defining how we would like to evolve / mature the community and its tools. This definition and road map is the responsibility of the community to define and maintain.

Liferay Whiteboard - The liferay whiteboard section is for those project which have migrated off of developer notebooks and on to the Portal and Portlet Roadmaps. This is an area where the community can do distributed design. This documentation is likely to be repurposed in manuals once the designs are released as product.
