The first meetup of the Liferay Montreal User Group was held on Wednesday February 13, 2013, from 17:30 to 19:30 at Savoir-faire Linux (7275 Saint Urbain, Montréal, QC, H2R 2Y5). 

A total of fourteen people participated, making it a lively evening of informal talks on Liferay and on ideas for the Montreal User Group. While most of the participants were from Montreal, a few joined in from Quebec city and took part in the discussions via videoconferencing. 

The evening started off with introductions from each participant and member of the newly-created group, followed by a presentation of the Liferay Montreal User Group and an overview of the Liferay platform. Among the important topics discussed were the frequency of meetups (once every two months), the location of future meetups (closer to the downtown area), and the format of and material to be presented during future meetups.
