Basically in our company we have had a requirement put to us whereby we identify the type of user that is accessing our website login page and we target content on this Public Page based on the type of user it is.
Previously I have redirected users to specific pages after they log into our website but have not dealt with this type of case before of redirecting users even before they log into our website.
Of course we can match the user ip address to a list of login ips which the user has used before when previously accessing our website.
Just matching previously logged in ips to identify the type of user is one way but would this be a security issue or cause some unexpected problems..
Is there some better or safer way to do this targeting content to users before they even log into the website.
Maybe Liferay may have some functionality that I am not aware of to enable this type of user content targeting.
If not it may be an idea for a new
type of functionality to make Liferay
even more useful than it already is
Any ideas or suggestions are welcome.
