I'm new to Liferay and am trying to understand the WCM system.
I'd like to develop an "Announcement" portlet that has 3 distinct views of web content created for it. The views I'm referring to would be:
1) The portlet view a user sees on a community page
...I'd like this to show Title, Author, and the first 300 lines of "Body" text.
...I'd like to display all content items that have been created over the last 7 days.
...I'd like to group these content items by the date they were created (all of Monday together, all of Tuesday together, etc)
2) An index view that shows the full list of archived content
...I'd like to display all content items grouped by the month they were created
3) The view when a user clicks on a particular item
...I'd like to display the title, create date, author, followed by body field text
In case my description isn't clear, I've attached images that contains the 3 distinct views I'm hoping to build.
Is this possible using out of the box Liferay 6 EE portlets, structures, templates or does this require custom coding against the API?
If it is possible, where would I begin - I'm lost
