Liferay Banner Portlet in IE9

I am currently working on a project that uses the banner portlet quite extensively and after testing in IE9 we have found that it doesn't work very well at all.

The banner on the front page of www.liferay.com suffers from the same problem. Whenever the mouse is moved the banner suddenly turns to black.

Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I have played around with the code to see if I can neutralize the problem but have had no luck so far.

This might be more relevant being posted on the Microsoft forums, because the banner works fine in every other browser, but I thought I should post here first to see if anyone has any thoughts.

So, any thoughts?

Where did you get this banner portlet? I am unable to find it with my installation and use coin-slider instead. That works fine with IE 9.

After you asked, I wasn't too sure myself. I assumed it was out of the box functionality (as I'm a new developer in the team) but it turns out it's not a solution in the Liferay source, although it is the one they are using on the front page.

Hi thanks for this suggestion. But i seem to notice that if you leave your browser idle for a while the coinage effect is gone. Is will just transition those pages normally as the current liferay one does. Im not sure if anyone else is seeing this problem. Tested it twice via Chrome.

Thanks for noticing, i am having the same problem as well. When my mouse hovers on top (or not on top) of it the image goes blank. This happens only on IE9.
Weird enough this doesnt happen when i view the frontpage for Liferay.com.

Found any solutions yet?

Apparently this happens with Liferay 5.2.3 and IE9 not with Liferay 6.0.5 and IE9.
Just a heads up. Maybe you could upgrade to newer Liferay or use other carousel.
But if you had found a solution for this bug fix please do let me know.

I applied nivo slider for 5.2.3. Works like a charm.
