Multiple Liferay Sites and URLs

We are setting up multiple sites in Liferay, each site will be an internal application (e.g., effort reporting, travel requests, etc). We'd like to maintain a URL-naming convention when creating new sites.

Option #1
https://app1.domain.com
https://app2.domain.com
https://app3.domain.com

Option #2
https://our.domain.com/app1
https://our.domain.com/app2
https://our.domain.com/app3

Is it possible to setup either of the URL conventions above on a single Liferay instance with each URL representing a different Liferay site?

Yes, it's possible. Just specify the virtual host for each of your site. For details, take a look at Leveraging Liferay's Multi-site Capabilities
