Liferay 6.1 GA4 release date

has anyone any idea when the next release will be out?

ok Yonas told me that 6.1 is planned for the new year (Jan.2011).

The question is whether there would be a GA4 before that (6.0.10 or something I guess). Anyone has any info on this matter?

I think Liferay 6.0.10 won't exist as a Community Edition, as the first Enterprise Edition is Liferay 6.0.10, so the next Community/Standard Edition it would be Liferay 6.1.0.

Hi guys!

some real info here:

1. We are going to release a new CE version in a few weeks. It'll be Liferay 6.0.6 (GA4) and it'll have a lot of bug fixes and translation improvements.
2. There's no fixed release date for the next major version yet (please don't listen to estimations done by community members!... January? ). It'll be Liferay version 6.1. Stay tuned for real time estimations.
3. 6.0 EE is version 6.0.10 and 6.0 EE SP1 is 6.0.11

Any update on a release day for 6.1? Or, a comprehensive list of what will be included in it. I'm looking around the site but not necessarily finding what I'm looking for.

Also, is there a date for the 6.0.6 official release? I heard 3/31 but am not sure how accurate that is.

6.0.6 is already out (since a month ago). Just go to download page and it's there.
About 6.1, I don't have any ideas. But for the GA version at least 3-4 month I guess.

Any official news on this topic ?

I'm eager for 6.1 as several issues that matters a lot to several projects I'm working on will be fixed in that version (Calendar private events not shown to everyone, Asset Publisher "group by" function messing up the results, etc.).

Hmm thanks for this (interesting post indeed), but it's not what I pointed out.

The bug I'm telling about is that when a user adds a private event (permissions:owner) on a shared calendar everyone can see the title displayed amongst other events, even if they can't access more information out of the event.

I know this issue has been fixed for v6.1, and other interesting issues too, so as I'm working on projects with Liferay and times goes on and client has needs, I'm very interested to know ;-)

You can find LR 6.1 on the trunk of liferay SVN, here : http://svn.liferay.com/repos/public/portal/trunk/
Since the Liferay 6.1 version is still not an official release (but a trunk).
It'll be stable for the 6.1 version which will be released soon.

Here the release date is set to 19. August, but last experience shows that you have to count with 2-3 months delay and GA1 and GA2 and suff, so I guess a stable version of 6.1 will not be available before the middle of October. I know it sucks big time, but this is the price to pay when you use open source platforms.

The support for UI frameworks is not built into the portal itself: Liferay is agnostic. You rather want to check out bridges like portletfaces.

Also, please post a new thread for a new question next time - this is not really about a release date (which is - by the way and to my knowledge - still the same as Juan has posted: There's no fixed release date for the next major version yet)
