How to install chat portlet ?

Hi every body.

i have install successfully chat portlet on liferay 5.2.3 but it do not show like the document said as well as what i saw in liferay website.(do not show any thing)

i installed it on window server 2003 and it is not connect to internet.(just Lan network only)

someone can explain for me why chat portlet is not start although i installed successfully.

You probably need to restart Liferay.

I have restarted already.

even, i removed chat portlet and re-install but the same result.

do you have any idea ?

i used chat portlet 5.2.2.1 and liferay 5.2.3

i have attached the server screen

when i opened log file, it 's empty.

pls help me.

Then you probably have the wrong version of the chat portlet. Make sure that you can connect to the internet and use the control panel to install it from the repository instead of what ever installation process you followed previously. It should work.

Hi,

There in no error in Tomcat console and you are using correct chat portlet version. I am not getting another screen(Liferay GUI), can you attach it again by using default theme.

if i used classic theme , it's OK
but the the tomcat console pushed the error as follows:

ERROR : [FinderCacheUtil:] Regenerate com.liferay.chat.model.status via "ant build-service" or else caching will not work.


please tell me why ? and how can i fix it ?

i can chat with everybody but sometime i can not send the message to he or she.

pls help me

When you are getting this error, which environment r you using Ext or plugin?

Edit: The portlet is part of the theme and I don't think it is available in all themes. Classic theme should serve as the example on how to include the chat portlet.

i only used liferay5.2.3 with tomcat5.5 that i download from liferay home

and i do not used ext environment, used plugin only.

Now chat portlet run Ok on destop theme & classic theme but it still have the error that i

send you in the last mail.
