Problem extracting archive

I downloaded the Standard edition bundle with Tomcat and having issues extracting the files. The zip file is almost completed extracting and I get "Password Needed" message.

The file 'edit_005fpermissions_005fal..' is password protected.

It asks for a password. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?


Winzip adds the following error messages, there are many more like these;

I'd say you should download a new bundle. Which one were you trying to get?

Actually Lisa, I thought of that. I downloaded both the Liferay/Tomcat 6 and the Liferay/Tomcat 5.5 bundles.
They are right there for download on the product page of this site and when I download then extract them, we run into issues.

What is the fix?

Surely someone has solved this problem in the 2 years or more it has existed?

Is the following URI the one you used to download from?

http://sourceforge.net/projects/lportal/files/Liferay%20Portal/5.2.3/liferay-portal-tomcat-5.5-5.2.3.zip/download

If so, please try another unzip utility, such as 7z, Winrar, etc, because many people have tried this without running into this issue.

Also, please provide your environment, e.g. Operating System version, Winzip version, etc.

Hi,

I had this problem before. But then i realized that it was my fault. Sometimes it happens that the archive is not downloaded correctly due to network issues. Please check that the archive that is downloaded has the same size which is mentioned in sourceforge. If its not, then its your problem while downloading archive.
