Company Vs Organization

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what is the difference between Liferay Company and Organization, I see that its interchangeably used across the code. Just wanted to get a clarity on it.

Company in a code refers to "instance" as defined in Control Panel -> Portal Instance.
Organization is Control Panel -> Organizations.

Thanks, but we could have used Instance or Enterprise instead of company has its tends to confusing most of the times .

It's one of the terms left-over from earlier versions. There other words such as "journal" that also no longer used in the GUI. Changing all these words to new words would be ruin compatibility of APIs with earlier versions. Developers just have to know how these earliers words are used in the current version.
