Default asset publisher mode

Hey-ho, folks! Can anyone help me to find out, which parameter uses asset publisher when switches to default asset publisher mode (shows proper web content). Thank you!

Well, here is an example:
Let's pretend we have 2 asset publishers on the same page: first is the default for this page (and simultaneously it is set to show abstracts of some certain web-content), and the second one shows list of this content and set to "View in specific portlet". All of web-content items are set to be shown on this page. So, when I open this web-page, the default publisher shows abstracts, but when I click on the item of the second publisher, the default one switches to show the proper asset instead of all the abstracts.
So, which parameter is given to the default publisher in this scenario, and how is it passed to it (request, session, url?)?

What was the Liferay version you are using?

This feature is available since Liferay 6.1. And I am using beta 3.
