Want to remove default Welcome page

Hi all,

I want to remove default welcome page that is the 1st screen shot and replace the first screen shot page with second screen shot page that is my home page as my default landing page after entering url(localhost:8080)

Whenever guest hit url : localhost:8080

He get directed to welcome page: "which i want to remove"

and want him to get directed directly to Home page" "Which i want as default landing page"

Hello Sir, can you give some help?...i created a default user group( public and private pages) wich is associated with new users accounts,.. and after log in, the new users still has default liferay 'welcome ' page. How can remove this default ''welcome'' page ?..i use liferay 6.1 GA 2......in 6.1 GA 1 this not happened

There's nothing to remove. You just rename it with what the front page should be, change the layout, drop the prepopulated portlets and add your own.

I'm newbe to liferay and I didn't understand your explanation.
I have a user group associated with a site template1 for public pages and to a site template2 for private pages.
In my site template, I have two pages public and two pages private.
Any user who connect get his own personal site public and private with the pages from site template1 and from site template2,
plus welcome page.

How can I do get rid of this welcome page automatically for all userss belonging to the user group ?

Can you please explain a little bit more your solution ?

Hello,

Add this to portal.ext.properties:

default.user.public.layouts.lar=${liferay.home}/deploy/Default_public_pages-201404161749.lar
default.user.private.layouts.lar=${liferay.home}/deploy/Default_private_pages-201404161751.lar
layout.user.public.layouts.modifiable=false
layout.user.private.layouts.modifiable=false

... must create 2 sites template for both public and private pages . For view Lar.File export pages to your desktop and you will see.
