Applying workflow on Software Catalogue

I want to add workflow capability on 'Software Catalogue'. Suggest me what to do for this?

Basically it can be done but i strongly suggest against it. Writing your own portlet would be nuch more maintainable in the long tun

No, and I can't urge you strongly enough not to go this route.

But if you do , it's probably best to try and extract the complete portlet from liferay to it's own portlet
