geolocation for public requestors

I have a need where Liferay does geolocation by ip to provide output (lets say for default locale, pricing for China, or for Canada or ...)

Any Java API free or commercial out there to recommend ?

Yes, but may be the 2 classical solutions:
- Either use the HTML5 APIs. Works well on iPhone, Android, etc ... But only on Firefox 4+, Chrome and IE9+ for desktops.
- Use http://www.maxmind.com/app/geolitecity

I looked up my own office ip on maxmind and was told I was in Quebec Canada ; bit of flux here given even Google Gears for legacy pre-HTML5 is deprecated

Coding for multiple devices/browserVersions can get costly for client. Same old/Same old ; thanks for the feedback.
