How to get Liferay running in Windows XP Pro

Install Java

 

Set JAVA_HOME

  • Set the JAVA_HOME Environment Variable and point it to the location of the JDK
  • Add JAVA_HOME to the Path Env Var
  • Tomcat needs to know the location of the JDK in order to run properly

 

Download Liferay tomcat bundle

 

Start up Tomcat


 

http://localhost:8080

Hi Adam. This set up is for a regular user who will not see or touch the code.

On a side note. I recently move to another laptop with Windows XP Home. The instructions can be applied successfully to Windows XP Home as well.
