Hello, i upgraded from ga5 to ga6 but there are few important bugs. I
have one bundle portal LR7 and one instances added in virtual instances.
After upgrade i saw missing in control panel some links and i finded in
second instances...so instances are moved between them. Default Liferay
instance is now second instance wich i added, also icon from edit
webcontent not works.
Why always and always so rushing into a new version and all the time
something goes wrong? what is the purpose of an upgrade? to make it work
better than the previous version, is not it? with every new upgrade we
spoil something else? i really dont understand you "Liferay"!
Hi gnp, I am sorry to hear you are having issues with GA6. We run the
build through a whole gauntlet of tests which all ran cleanly before we
released. Would it be possible for you to open a ticket on
http://issues.liferay.com with exact steps on how to reproduce the issue
on a clean environment? Then we can try and figure out what's going on.
Thank you for response, i dont want to be conflictual.. but.. belive
me.. because i work every day with Liferay since 10 years i think...with
every release, you repairs bugs and put another in front of Liferay...(
always there are bugs with affect build a simple website )so it.s not a
seriosly tested..Please Please Please Build one version/year, or 1/2
years, but do it something STABLE...or maybe your strategy is to sold
DXP and CE it was build to not be stable?!...also i have a lot of
friends wich work with Liferay and the same oppinion...I love Liferay a
lot but I think it ate my health!!! dont grab to release a new version
wich is not stable..it.s moore good for the CE community to WAIT but for
something stable. Thank you
In the Known Issues, you say: May see message: Duplicate entry
'com.liferay.rss.web.internal.util.RSSFeed' for key 'IX_B27A301F'. We
have determined this error is non-disruptive and can safely be ignored.
I have received this error on upgrade and Liferay does not start. It
cannot safely be ignored. I get an error when Liferay tries to start:
Failed upgrade process
com.liferay.rss.web.internal.upgrade.RSSWebUpgrade$2 I have been
searching around for quite a while to find some kind of release note for
this, all to no avail. I did find this bug, which lists
"workaround": https://issues.liferay.com/browse/LPS-77654
But the workaround says, "Execute this goovy script". That's
not sufficient for an end user. How? Where? At the gogo prompt I'm
left in after the upgrade process fails? How do I do that? Help would
be appreciated.
Hi Troy, Sorry to hear you are running into issues. Our QA team I both
were able to start the platform when we ran into this issue. If it had
prevented us from starting the system we would have blocked the release.
The groovy script can only be ran assuming you have a system that will
start from the Server Administration section in the control panel. To
work around this issue you have two options: 1.) Remove the duplicate
entry in the database by removing the entry with the value of:
com.liferay.rss.web.internal.util.RSSFeed from the ClassName_ table.
The upgrade script should then complete. This is what the groovy script
is doing. 2.) Liferay 7 CE GA7 is going to be released soon and will
include a fix for this issue. Please let me know if you are running
into any more issues or need any further help. -Jamie
