Keynote

The Liferay Platform: More Than a Portal
(Bryan Cheung, Liferay)

Enterprise portal technology has been around for more than 10 years and lived through tremendous changes in the consumer and business technology worlds, including a shift toward rapid development methodologies, the inclusion of "social" aspects in all applications, the virtualization and commoditization of infrastructure, and the democratization of content. While some portals are content to rest in the old paradigm of superficial integration at the presentation tier, modern enterprise portal platforms like Liferay are helping organizations incorporate these developments into their business and putting users and their communities in touch with the information and applications they are looking for.

What's Coming in Content Management
(Juan Fernandez, Liferay) (en français)
The evolution of Liferay content management capabilities continues. As Liferay forges ahead and breaks new ground with changes ranging from the most modest usability improvements all the way to innovations like web based VCS-like Branching and Versioning (Version Control System), the goal of delivering unprecedented content management capabilities to the masses is being realized. This session will discuss content management features in the latest version of Liferay Portal, including new multiple repository mounting for the Document Library, and cover the roadmap for ongoing development for the next and future versions.

Extremely Flexible and Light Portal Customization
(Ray Augé, Liferay) (en français)
Sometimes a Liferay solution calls for a quick customization and project pressures preclude the possibility of using Java (code review, QA, deployment through production). Often the same results can be accomplished using templates and front-end technologies more quickly and without losing robustness.

This session will demonstrate advanced theme features to make integral UI customizations, using technologies such as freemarker, taglibs, and AlloyUI.
