The portal is currently reindexing

Hi All,

I am facing a issue in Liferay CE 7 GA3 where I went to Control Panel-Configuration-Server Administration, in that Resources tab is empty and on the portal I get the portal is currently reindexing (it has been more than a day now).
Also I get the following error as
java.lang.NullPointerException at com.liferay.portal.kernel.backgroundtask.display.BaseBackgroundTaskDisplay.getBackgroundTaskStatusAttributeLong(BaseBackgroundTaskDisplay.java:133)

Can someone let me know how to stop this indexing issue or any solution.
