We are planning to create a big enterprise portal application. Now we choose between Liferay and Backbase. Can anyone say something in favor of Liferay? Maybe some cool features that are not available in Backbase.
I haven't known Backbase but from their web site, it seems very niche focusing on banking. I don't think Liferay has any banking portlet. On the other hand, Liferay is much more of a generally focuses portal.
I, also, didn't see any forum nor any mailing list at Backbase site. It seems there isn't any Backbase community.
I think it depends on your needs. If you're going to be building a banking site, go with Backbase. If not, go with Liferay. Another thing to consider is, I haven't see any documentations which seems to imply that you'll have to buy a solution from them instead of a portal software.
