Hyperlinks not underlined?

The vendor developing our site informed me that Liferay, by default, does not underline hyperlinks.
I would have to manually add the underlining to the links inside each individual piece of content I added.

Is this true?

That sounds like the opposite of what I'd expect for a number of reasons.

thanks,
Matt

No. Perhaps a new vendor is in order.

Thanks. That's worrying.

We also flagged the site search function. PDFs, when accessed via the search results window, will not launch. Rather they appear as an embedded page iwith a preview image. I would have expected them to launch like a 'normal' PDF. Again the vendor indicated that was standard Liferay behaviour.

Well, you have to set the headers to treat it like a download and, if not, browsers (like chrome) will render them in the frame. On this your vendor is correct in that it is the OOTB behavior, but that is easily resolved via your portal-ext.properties:

    #
    # Input a list of comma delimited extensions for which the content
    # disposition header has to be set to "inline".
    #
    mime.types.content.disposition.inline=flv,gif,jpg,pdf,png,swf,wmv

By default PDF is in the list so it lets the browser render them inline.

Hi Matt,

You can control the style of links through the theme. It should not require any manual work.
