Hi,

when I try to call the portal (4.4.0), I get surprisedly the message "The system is shutdown. Please try again later."
No log output in tomact. Nothing. Only the message in the browser

Can someone help me?

is your portal completly out of the box?

I've sen this when I use a different database and i forget to start it before starting the portal...

Yes, it is.

I solved the problem by updating the portal to 4.4.1.

Hai i am getting same problem...


but my portlets are getting deployed.. in the console i can able to see whether my portlets are deploy are not .

but in the browser i getting error message like:The system is shutdown. Please try again later


if any one knows please help me to resolve that solution...

Hi all,
I wanted to use MYSQL database for my liferay so I have changed the settings to
Control panel --> Server --> Server Administration --> Data migration

Now I have enter the configuration for database:
jdbc.default.driverClassName=com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
jdbc.default.url=jdbc:mysq­l://localhost/lportal?useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=UTF-8&useFastDateParsing­=false
jdbc.default.username=username
jdbc.default.password=password

and executed. Now I get
The system is shutdown. Please try again later

what shall i do?
Any suggestions would be much appreciated

I solved it all myself. I have installed MySQL to use it with liferay but got the above problem so I uninstalled MySQL database and reset the seetings of tomcat.
And now its working flawless.
