Vertical Navigation

Hi,

I am trying to add a vertical navigation (very similar to the vertical navigation options on the lifeRay documentation site http://www.liferay.com/it/documentation/liferay-portal/6.1/user-guide) - Can someone please guide me in the right direction?

Have you tried the navigation portlet of liferay,please check it may be it will fulfill your requirement.

If you don't want to use the navigation-portlet, you can develop a custom theme. In this theme you make a div ( eg. div id="navandcontent"). In the this div you place
1. a separate div with the code that displays the navigation and 2.the content div. In css you make the navigation div and the content div inline-block (or the css-solution for browsers that don't support inline-block )
