timeout duration portlet

Hi,
I want to create portlet which will show the timeout duration.
Please help

Time duration of what? I don't see why you can't just create it.

after login the user want to see how long his session will live ie the time out duration of the user.
first i think i will show it in status bar but then i think to create a portlet.
please help.
