Error when opening file to edit in Eclipse 3.7.2

Attempting to open any file results in a dialog with "An error has occurred.
See error log for more details.

I installed Eclipse 3.7.2 with Liferay IDE 1.5.3

Did you install Liferay IDE manually or did you use the all-in-one bundles from the download page?

I've seen others report this same problem here: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=379473

Did you install other plugins first?

I used the all-in-one bundles from download page.
I installed Liferay IDE plugin, Jboss tolls, subeclipse, Commons4e, AnyEdit, and VeloEclipse plugins. I can't remember which one is the first.
I removed everything and reinstalled it then the the problem is gone.

I also installed it on Spring STS 2.9.2. I can't config the Tomcat Runtime Environment. The Edit button is disabled.

So just to be clear you have it working now in the Eclipse all-in-one bundle with Liferay IDE but it doesn't work if you try to install Liferay IDE into STS 2.9.2?
