Liferay Contributors: Eclipse or IntelliJ?

There's a lot of stuff in the wiki regarding the use of IntelliJ for core development and contribution:

JRebel & IntelliJ
Core Development with IntelliJ

But the corresponding page for Core Development with Eclipse has absolutely nothing useful.

For those of you contributing back to Liferay, are you using IntelliJ or is Eclipse not the redheaded step child it appears to be?

David, I want to try to set it up with Eclipse. Have you tried anytime?

Thank you, Luis

I use Eclipse just because I've used it for years.

Hi I am a Liferay portlet developer, I have cloned the repo from github and I'd like to contribute with some bug fixing in order to learn more about Liferay.
I am setting up the project in Eclipse, but I can't find any useful documentation. Could someone explain/write an article about the liferay-portlet project's structure: I am especially interested in bug fixing, so what's the best way to build sub-modules?
Thanks
