Hi Murali,

The above Liferay Documentation link is very sufficient for any beginner as posted by Priyanka, but you need to implement them and keep on searching different approach on any topic. The Liferay Forum is also very effective to enhance your skills, just check what are the solutions being discussed for any issue.

There is also some blogspot which gives the tutorial for the liferay basics, you may also search those and practice a lot.

If you are initially interested in "using" liferay, Liferay's documentation and wiki pages should be enough.

If you are interesting in programming, check Liferay's Developer's documentation and I recommend book "Liferay in Action".

I heard about jsr 168 and jsr 286 specification.Then what is relation between Portlet 2.0 spec and these JSR specifications.And What should i read the specification among these three specification?

JSR 286 is the Portlet 2.0 specification. So there's only JSR168 and JSR 286 specification.

Since You are a java developer hence, I would like to suggest, first figure out the differences and the similarities between java web development and liferay portal development. Because you should know the basics first . It will help you to learn adavance liferay core functionalities.

If you know Java and frameworks, that should be sufficient to get you started. Learn as you need them.

No, you don't need to be a developer to use liferay. You can build a pretty complicated system. I recommend reading liferay's online documentation.

You can generate odt version from the source file befloe and create a pdf from that.
