Search Portlet

Hi,


i am new to this Liferay can anybody help me to do the custom search portlet . i dont want default search portlet because it is searching within liferay but i want Custom Search portlet i means What Ever we Want we can search.

Please i need help a from Liferay guys . because i need for my Projects

"Whatever we want" is a big term, from where you want the data to display. Is that user, organization, content, properties etc. or may be data from other sites.

Apache Solr is a very good search engine used in many open source search projects.
There is a related project, Apache ManifoldCF, which is able to search many resources. You'll need to create a user interface portlet to use it.

Givika, for the resources outside liferay you will need a crawler to create a repository. Try Nutch for that.
