How to allow standard user to translate web content ?

Junior Member Postagens: 95 Data de Entrada: 18/07/11 Postagens Recentes
Hi,

I can only add a translation to a web content as an administrator. I need users with the organisation role 'translator' in an organisation's site to also be able to translate web contents.

What is the proper setup in the permissions to allow that ?

Thanks and best regards,
Alain

It looks like a bug : it seems that only the author of the latest published version has the authorisation to add a translation.

Could somebody try to replicate this:
  • USER1 Add a web content to a page
  • USER1 Add some content in the default language
  • log out, and log in as USER2 that has the permissions to update the web content
  • USER2 Add a translation -> FAIL : you do not have enough permissions
  • USER2 make changes to web content in default language and publish
  • USER2 Add translation -> SUCCESS

Hi Alain,

I have the same problem. I have a workflow in my portal. A user with the role of Writer writes content elements with Translations. Another user with the role Portal Content Reviewer reviews the content and then it will be published. Portal Content Reviewers can customize the text in the original language but not the translated text!

Error : You do not have the required permissions.

Hi,

I think I've found the solution, User2 must have the following Permission :

Roles >> YOUR-USER-ROLE >> Define Permissions >> Add Permissions >> Portal >> Users and Organisations >> User >> View (you have to check it)
