End of Life

Subscribers purchasing a Liferay subscription will benefit from a full enterprise-grade End of Life ("EOL") policy (also referred to as End of Service Life ("EOSL") policy) in accordance with their subscription level.

Premium Support Phase

The Premium Support Phase for a Liferay App's LTS Version shall be the period of time from its First Ship Date up until the end of the Premium Support Phase of its specified Compatible Liferay Portal Version. For all other non-LTS Versions, the Premium Support Phase shall begin on its First Ship Date and end on (i) the release of the next Liferay App Major Version or Minor Version; or (ii) six (6) months after, whichever is later.

During the Premium Support Phase, subscribers will be provided:

  • full support, in accordance with a subscriber's respective subscription level, with up to 24x7, 365 day service levels,
  • access to Liferay's Help Center and customer knowledge bases
  • access to all upgrades of the Liferay App developed against the Compatible Liferay Portal Version and
  • security alerts and critical patch updates.

Limited Support Phase

After the end of a Liferay App's Premium Support Phase, a Liferay App will enter the Limited Support Phase up until the end of the Limited Support Phase of its specified Compatible Liferay Portal Version. During the Limited Support Phase, subscribers will be provided:

  • support, in accordance with a subscriber's respective subscription level, with up to 24x7, 365 day service levels
  • access to Liferay's Help Center and customer knowledge bases
  • access to all upgrades of the Liferay App developed against the Compatible Liferay Portal Version and
  • security alerts and security updates.

In addition, the following guidelines apply:

  • Liferay support will direct subscribers to existing fix packs, workarounds, and consolidated service packs, and Liferay App versions available in Liferay's Help Center and, customer knowledge bases, and/or the Liferay Marketplace
  • Liferay support may direct subscribers to upgrade to a more current version/release of the product.

Definitions

Compatible Liferay Portal Version means a version of Liferay Portal that is compatible with a specific Liferay App version as specified in the Liferay App details on the Liferay Marketplace.

Liferay App means an app on the Liferay Marketplace that is: (i) authored by Liferay, Inc. or its affiliates; (ii) eligible to receive support; and (iii) not marked as a "Labs" app.

First Ship Date means the date on which Liferay first makes available, for license or sale, a Liferay App of a Major Version or Minor Version.

Major Version means generally commercially released major new releases, modifications or enhancements to the same Liferay App as designated by a change in the number to the left of the first decimal in the version number.

Minor Version means generally commercially released code corrections, patches, updates and minor version releases of the same Liferay App as designated by a change in the number to the right of the first decimal in the version number.

Long Term Support Version or LTS Version means a version of a Liferay App that has been identified by Liferay to receive support in alignment with the Premium Support Phase of a specified Compatible Liferay Portal Version.
