KonaKart is a java-based enterprise eCommerce shopping cart application that provides an extensive set of features to enable retailers to successfully sell their products over the internet.
Note that this app is a demonstration and is configured for use on liferay-tomcat bundles only. The KonaKart storefront app can be run on other app servers but the portlets for these must be generated by executing the relevant ANT tasks (for your Liferay version and app server) after first downloading KonaKart. (Details on how to create your own portlets from your own downloaded copy of KonaKart are described at http://www.konakart.com/docs/LiferayPortletInstallation.pdf )
This particular app runs the KonaKart storefront as a Liferay portlet. This demonstrates the power of the API approach of KonaKart as it shows how easy it is to point your portlet at a remote KonaKart system in order to provide complete online store functionality within Liferay. The app is configured to use JSON for its communication to the online demo store at http://www.konakart.com/konakart/
To use your own products, rather those managed by our online demo version of KonaKart, you can simply download your own free copy of KonaKart and install it locally - see http://www.konakart.com/downloads for details. Having done this you can either configure your app to point at your local version or instead create your own portlets from the local installation (using the supplied ANT tasks - see http://www.konakart.com/docs/pi_chapter.html ) and run the complete store within a Liferay portlet.
An Enterprise version of KonaKart is also available - with many more features than the Community Edition (see http://www.konakart.com/product/community-or-enterprise ). If you wish to download a trial version of the Enterprise Edition please make this request in a mail to email@example.com using your company email.
This portlet requires Java 7
