Staging and remote publishing has been quite problematic area on Liferay. I have to do some tests and see where we are.

Permissions are still not staged properly.

To reproduce:

Create a new page in the staging environment
Remove the view permission for the Guest role and e.g. enable the page only for Users (or Community members)
Publish the page to the live environemnt --> everybody is allowed to see the page

I tried this with 6.0.3
