This app provides the following portlets to enhance social networking capabilities for Liferay site members.

The Summary portlet shows an overview of the site its placed in. For example, if it's on a user's profile page, it shows the user's job title and interests and a button for sending a friend request to the user. Important: the Collaboration suite's Requests portlet is required to handle friend requests.

The Wall portlet lets users post messages on another user's page, similar to Facebook's wall. Users must be friends to post on each other's walls. Wall posts are visible to all users who are a friend of the respected user. The Wall

This app integrates your Twitter timeline into Liferay's Activities framework so that your Tweets show up in your Liferay Activity Stream. Once installed, the app can be added to your private dashboard page and configured with your Twitter username. The app will periodically access your tweets through the Twitter API, and import them as Activities. You can view your tweets by adding the Activities portlet onto your personal public or private pages.

The Bookmarks app adds a widget that can be used to list and organize bookmarks. Placing the Bookmarks widget on a site page lets administrators curate bookmarks of interest for the entire community. The widget can bookmark internal portal pages as well as external URLs.

After installing this app, you can access the Bookmarks widget from the Widgets menu.

The Invitation app lets you send an invitation to a list of email addresses.

The Private Messaging app allows you to send email-like messages to other users within the portal. Providing a similar interface to that of an email client, you can compose and delete messages, and mark them as read or unread. As with email, you can add a subject, message body, and add attachments to messages.

The Meetings app integrates your Liferay instance with the BigBlueButton and Zoom web conferencing services. You can use the meetings app to easily organize video conferences and automatically send email notifications to attendees. Attendees can join meetings by clicking the link in the notification email.
