not searchable check box in documents and media portlet

Hi,
i am not sure why the not searchable checkbox is there in web content but not in documet library(documents and media).
Is it done intentionally or is it missed.

You can set permission on files so search results won't show up to an user.

If the documents and media image is referenced in an article it will stop showing.
Also the indexes are getting stored which is consuming space.
The web content portlet provides the box, then why not the documents and media?
