Error : can't create liferay module project

Hi All,

when I'm create portlet for service builder concept on eclipse my server is (liferay-ce-portal-7.0-ga3) , i.e error is throwing that is "can't create liferay module project" on eclipse and i'm using JDK 8 & MySQL 5.6 version.
I have attached one screen for facing issue,

how to resolve this is issue please help me.

Hi,
I think it is problem in eclipse. I also got same error then i changed my eclipse. Use Eclipse Neon 3.

Hey Kiran,

You can upgrade to lasted version of Liferay IDE to see if the problem still exist.
https://web.liferay.com/downloads/liferay-projects/liferay-ide

And if possible, u can provide us more detail error logs.

I am facing same issue.
Please.
Previously it was working fine then I formatted my system because of some issue in my C drive.
After that I installed jdk 8u172 and windows 10.
Now it is not working.
I am using
eclipse oxygen.
Windows 10 64 bit
Unable to create
liferay workspace.
liferay plugin portlet using plugin sdk
liferay module project
Unable to import liferay work space by creating liferay work space using blade command.
Same issue I also faced in my younger brother system.
Please any one know exact issue then help.
I am desperately looking for solution.

And also can you try with the latest Liferay IDE?

Hello asif,

Also you can check your Liferay IDE version and the buildship version.
If you buildship version is 2.2.0 and IDE version is 3.1.2, it would cause this issue.

You can update your IDE verison to 3.2 M1 or decrease the version of buildship.

Finally I resolved this issue by the help of different places.
I want to describe here my complete process from error to finally resolved.
First problem was eclipse.
I was using Oxygen, even before format my system I was using Oxygen and it was working fine but this time it is not working with oxygen.
With eclipse oxygen it is simply giving me error that importing liferay worksapce failed.
No clue what is the reason then I read this

So I downloaded eclipse Neon

Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
Version: Neon.3 Release (4.6.3)
Build id: 20170314-1500

Then I installed liferay IDE from:
Latest stable release (3.1.x)
Supports Eclipse 4.6.x or greater and Liferay Portal 7.0 GA1 or greater

I selected all ide plugins but is showing some issue with gradle plugins and not selected and the reason stated that already latest gradle installed.

Even in neon unable to create import workspace project but it shows hints that unable to install or download gradle because of some reason.
Then on search of gradle I found this link

Where it is mentioned that please download gradle file from:

http://services.gradle.org/distributions/

I download 'gradle-4.7-bin.zip
and paste inside then folder of liferayworkspace of gradle\wrapper\dist\
I pasted my gradle file that I downloaded manually and created a folder 'dist' inside wrapper folder
\liferayworkspace\gradle\wrapper\dist\

Create dist folder if it doesn't exists.

Here the problem in eclipse was to import liferayworkspace once it is created.
So in creation of liferayworkspace no problem, issue on import which eclipse automatically does once u create liferayworkspace project.
After I kept gradle inside dist folder then I tried to import and it was imported successfully.
And these are steps I followed to resolved my issue.
1. Use eclipse neon
2. Create liferayworkspace project and if it is failed to import error then download gradle from give url manually and paste inside
\liferayworkspace\gradle\wrapper\dist\ folder.
3. Try to import same work space.

It's Help->About Eclipse IDE->Buildship Icon.

See the attached picture.

My suggestion could be to download the latest Liferay IDE as your development environment.
