LDAP Groups and Site membership

Hi,

I have an issue with liferay social office that I am trying to work out. We want to assign users to sites based upon groups we have defined in LDAP.
1) Is this currently possible in liferay social office 1.5 (community edition)?

This post implies that it is possible to assign user groups as members to sites in liferay portal.

2) If this is not currently possible is this feature being added in the new 2.0 version that is being released soon?
