Moving Dockbar items to navigation.vm velocity template

Hi All,

I am looking to achieve something like this


Moving dockbar items like "My sites, User account, avatar etc" to the velocity template navigation file
I know we could use some Dock specific velocity variables to build My Account, sign In, sign Out links
but I am not sure whether we could move "Public/Private page" links, my site group links, my stream links easily to velocity file.

And whether it is possible to use the same aui nav items, anchor css classes to velocity file?

Please help me with the best way to achieve this?

Any suggestion please as it is getting much complex for me...
