How do I restrict access to certain pages in Liferay Portal 7?

I have been able to get an instance of Liferay Portal 7 installed, and I am able to deploy new portlets and add new users. However, I need some help creating new pages in Liferay Portal 7 that are only visible when the user is logged in. How do I go about creating new pages in Liferay Portal 7 that are only accessible to certain users, but also visible in the navigation bar once the user is logged in?

In addition, I need to be able to be able to restrict some of the uploaded documents and files to specific users or specific groups of users. How do I go about restricting who can access or download the files that need to be restricted to certain users?

Pages have permissions so you can remove the perms and users cannot get there. Note that the nav is aware of permissions and won't offer a page you don't have permission to, so that aspect is out.

Docs also have permissions, so you can change the perms on the docs to limit who can access or download them.
