invoke external web service in liferay 7.0

Hello, i'm trying to call an external web service from my portlet in liferay 7.0 with no success. I have theURL of the WSDL file and i've tried using axis, then cxf, but no one is working.

Can someone explain me how can i do that? The Web service i'm trying to consume is not a liferay web service.
