i am using java version 8,
how to add sdk 7
i am created new liferay plugins project error ,

Will help you to configure with plugin SDK Liferay 7
but this is not a recommended way to do as in Liferay introduced OSGI in liferay 7 so there are lots of changes in plugin development.

I didn't understand the link,
can u elaborate how to do basic setup.

anything wrong in my previous post.
we didn't modified anything in app.server.prop and release.prop
even we didn't renamed also.

Hi Thirumal

To configure with Plugin sdk 7 build.properties file is there ( In Liferay plugin sdk ) modified it with respect to tomcat , i did same things then it can take easily the plugin sdk . if any issue you will face kindly let me know . PFA of build.properties file , after changed in build.properties file and clean the server and download this jar file also ivy-2.4.0.LIFERAY-PATCHED-1-SNAPSHOT and put it in ivy folder in plugin sdk 7 .

Hi Abhi,
I didn't modified anything in build.prop file,
i added plugins sdk to eclipse workspace.
at the time of adding sdk i didn't get any problem.

even though do i need to rename the build.prop file add the properties like your prop file.

If you don't mind,
if you have liferay 7 baisc setup document can you attach it.(i have seen in dev network but i didn't understand exactly.)
please, it would be helpful for me,
i am trying from so many day's for perfect setup.

Hello

For Setup i didnt make any document for that for How liferay 7 work i made that one but it is not necessary for you.
Right now what i see that you are suffering from the configuration of SDK liferay 7 connection.

So nothing to do with that , kindly follow the steps
1- Go to my computer and right click and click on properties and see the Computer name ( For ex- Abhishek-PC)
2- Go to liferay Plugin-SDK and click on build.properties file replace and modified respect to my properties file.
3-Modified the Properties file and give the connection likewise Server folder(Refer my Properties file)
4- Paste the Jar file
5-Clean the server And start the server
6-Make one Plugin-Project and now give the path of sdk (if the properties file and jar file is fixed good) then no issue will be there it will not
give any error.

Follow this steps but actually this is not a recommended way to do but somehow we can execute by R&D

and i have one more doubt,
In our company we have around 60 portlets. So we are thinking to migrate all those portlets in Liferay 7 plugins sdk(not modules).

Converting all those portlets into modules it will take time so that we are continuing with plugins sdk

and we have ext's as well. we are thinking to migrate ext's into modules.
but we need some portlet services in ext's means need to acces those portlet services(**LocalServiceUtil) in modules.
How can i acheive this.?

i am using liferay-plugins-7.0.1-ga2 this,

Hi Arun,
I have checked , here i am able to create portlet,theme and hook(here moduled jsp pages are not availble) but not ext.
if i choose ext plugin type it is showing error like,
"The selected Plugins SDK does not support creating ext type plugins. Please configure version 6.2 or less."
so if i configure plugins-sdk can i able to create ext's also in 7?(as per my knowledge it's not possible)
if your able to create ext's also then tell me the procedure to create ext in 7 environment.

Hi Thirumal Reddy,

We are no longer support creating a ext's in 7 environment. The showing error means if u want to create one, u need to create it in 6.2 or less low version environment. The only way to migrate the ext's into 7.0 is change it into modules.

Thanks for your replay.
Ok. i'll migrate ext's into modules, but in that modules i need to access portlet services(6.2 portlet's are migrated to 7 environment same as portlet).
so how can i acheive this..?

and one more doubt, how can i use modules services in portlet's..?
