Upgrade liferay-portal-6.1.0-ce-ga1 to 6.2

Hello Everyone,
I want to upgrade liferay-portal-6.1.0-ce-ga1 to liferay 6.2 CEe . Can anyone suggest me the which Liferay Portal 6.2 CE version I need to use for upgrading previous version and please guide for the steps of upgradation.

It is usually a good practice to upgrade to latest version. In your case, 6.2.5 GA6.

I do have few questions can you answer them,
6.2.5 ga6 is fully stable version?,
It will acquire all the functions of liferay 6.1.0 ce ga1?

It's latest stable version. But it may have some bugs. One of the upgrade task it's checking if your portal is still working as it should after upgrading.

I think so, but, again, you should check if everything is working.

Hi Pradnya. If space rockets are still crashing (taking into account all the engineering/testing process behind the scenes for years even decades), you can guess that any system with some complexity tends to have bugs until certain extent.

Sorry, I can't tell you any specific Liferay version without bugs. That's why I asked you to test features you're using after upgrading in a test environment. Maybe you don't hit any with the things you're using in Liferay, or maybe you do. If you don't want to worry about bugs, that's just what Liferay Support does.

In this case your choice is Liferay Enterprise Edition. There's no guarantee that it doesn't have bugs, but they're fixed on a service level, and you get frequent servicepacks - for a longer time than you get updates for Community Edition (e.g. there won't be any more updates for 6.2 CE now that 7.0 CE is out, but 6.2 EE will continue to be supported for at least 4 years (premium support) and up to 7 years (end of life) after initial publication)
