Does JAAS configuration require clear text passsword?

Hi,

i have enabled JAAS for my web application and it is working only if passwords.encryption.algoritham set to NONE(Which means usage of clear text passwords)

Does it have to be like this or can we use encrypted passwords for JAAS?
