IPlanet LDAP authentication with Liferay 6.0.5

Hi All,

I have successfully connected to LDAP server using control panel(Authentication section).

Test LDAP--SUCCESS
Test Users--SUCCESS
Test Groups--SUCCESS

But i am not able to login using LDAP user.It ain't show any error in the log file.
Do i need to import LDAP users into the database before log in?
Can somebody throw some light on this?

Hi Nick,

Could you please attach or detail the options do you use in the Control Panel configuration tab, please? (autentication, general and LDAP)

Thanks for the reply.I've got to know from the documentation liferay only supports numeric user IDs where as i am using text.

I don't know why such restriction is there..and configuring roles in liferay is another nightmare ..
