Demo of Smart Form Portlet has been deployed for public preview at
http://samples.fifthocean.com.au/. Portlet is in use for large eForms implementations in government, financial services and education, more details on using Liferay for Digital Transformation projects is available on
FifthOcean Technologies site.
This particular demo instance has been configured for the following case:
- a typical government license application/registration form (appropriately cut down for demo purposes)
- this specific form has about 240+ fields spread over 22 pages
- the applicant is able to suspend and resume the registration process at any time, with data storage on client-side
- applicant is required to hand-sign pages and post documents to various government agencies
- final/intermediate PDF document contains about 50 pages, demo version generates essential pages only
Other functions include:
- variety of field types
- page tooltips
- field tooltips
- field tools: dictionaries, controlled vocabularies, calculators, calendars, etc (stripped out from this demo)
- default and custom page layouts
- variety of progress bars, this one is similar to Online Survey Portlet
- variety of progress rules, this one only allows to jump page by page in demo/test mode
- portlet is part of ERMS, with associated features such as workflow, retention, disposal, etc
From what we can see, this portlet starts switching users from Adove eForms to Liferay-based environments, which is an encouraging sign.
